I just finished Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. I can’t recommend it highly enough! I know I’m a real sucker for Kingsolver’s writing, and this one didn’t let me down at all. Borrow it from the library, or buy it, or whatever, but get yourself a copy and read it.
I truly didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. It’s very emotional.

I just finished Flight Behavior today (2/3); it was a Christmas gift from Ellen. It is one of those rare books that I sped through rapidly (the proverbial “page turner”) while at the same time not wanting for it to end! I had never read Kingsolver before. Her writing is magical (to coin a cliche.) I have been following you and Al as you get settled in. It sounds as if you’ve really come home and I am so happy for you. Please keep blogging; I’m not a Facebooker (though Anna keeps me in the Facebook loop.) We are currently in Florida where it’s lovely. We walk about 1.5 miles every morning, stopping for coffee halfway. I spend much of each day reading — my idea of heaven on earth. Love to you and Big Al. Anne

You would love Kingsolver’s “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle”. Also “Prodigal Summer”. I liked those two better than “Poisonwood Bible” or “The Lacuna”.
