The Butler

Capture

Yesterday, Franke Tobey Jones filled up their bus and took us to see The Butler.

Run, do not walk, to the nearest movie theater where it is playing, and watch it. I didn’t know exactly what the story was, except that it was about a White House butler who started working for Eisenhower and retired during the Reagan administration.

It was real, and heart-wrenching, and touching, and sad, and convicting. Having lived through those years, and having seen them from a place of privilege as I did, I found myself weeping in many parts of the film.

Be sure to take a pocketful of Kleenex with you when you go.
