America has been a union of purpose: a union born from the belief that although each individual is the pilot of their own destiny, when we come together, we change the world. We are stronger as a woven rope than as unbound threads.

1. Back to 57 deg early in the morning, with smoke-hazed skies. I don’t mind the heat during the day, as long as it’s cool at night. The smoke stayed in the upper atmosphere, and the AQI at the surface was 30 (good). It got into the low 80s after the sun came out.
2. I got the laundry mostly done by lunchtime, and finished it off, including folding and hanging by the time I left to go to the Wellness Center. I walked over (see #4), and got all my steps for the day.
3. Chicken, corn on the cob, and the rest of the German cucumber salad for me. Big Al had a sliced tomato instead of the cucumber salad.
4. They are “repairing” the problems with the street that was “repaved” two weeks ago. I’m really tired of the sound of heavy equipment and the smell of asphalt. I hope this is the end of it.

5. Gazebo Group this evening. Looking forward to a wine cooler in the shade, with good company and interesting conversation.
How about you? What made you happy today?
