Today I’m thankful for Social Security and Medicare. I might have chafed occasionally through the years at the 7.25% that came out of every paycheck, but now, in my old age, it helps to keep Big Al and me in the manner to which we have become accustomed. It’s not enough to live on, but it makes our savings and military retirement enough to enjoy our age. I give thanks for those lovely deposits in our savings and checking accounts.
