Taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society.
Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes
1. It was 33 deg. when I went to bed, and 35 deg when I got up. There’s still snow and rotten ice on the ground, but the icicles are still dripping. The high this afternoon was 43 deg. under drizzly skies.
2. I attended church on Zoom (no difference from regular Sundays). We heard about the Magi and learned some information about how/why what we have always thought about them is wrong They were Wise Men, not Kings. We also had communion because this was the first Sunday of the month. We didn’t get Star Words in church today, but one of my friends on Facebook has promised to draw one of hers for me.
3. Big Al and I went to the Lobster Shop for our delayed Christmas dinner. The roads were clear and wet, but generally without snow – however, the parking lot was slushy, melting ice. We made it into the restaurant with no mishaps. Al had Lobster Bisque for a starter, and Lobster Carbonara for his entree, and a glass of rose. I had Lobster Quesadilla for starters,

followed by Cremini mushroom chicken, with a side of mashed potatoes, and broccolini.

accompanied by a Bloody Mary. I also had their homemade peppermint ice cream for dessert.
4. I’m still working on my Intentions for 2022. I’m getting closer to what I want to put on paper, but I’m having a hard time presenting it. Instead of making the lists conform to a certain format, maybe I’ll just let it be different for each main topic header.
5. The Cowboys are playing against the Cardinals, and, of course, the Seahawks are playing at the same time, so I don’t get to watch the game – AGAIN.
How about you? What made you happy today?
