Beloved community is formed not by the eradication of difference but by its affirmation, by each of us claiming the identities and cultural legacies that shape who we are and how we live in the world.
BELL HOOKS
1. Cool, 45 deg. morning when I got up with clearing skies. The sun came out around noon and the temperature rose to the low 60s.

2. I took a class in Creative Writing (Memoir) this morning with Senior University. I really enjoyed it. The best part was that the professor gave us several new ideas for writing prompts. You all know that I’ve been struggling to write my little story for the past several weeks. The idea factory seemed to have closed its doors. But now I should be able to start that up again.
3. We had Bird’s Eye frozen sheet pan dinner – chicken with balsamic sweet potatoes, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts. Quick to make after I spent the morning doing something for me. It was acceptable food, but not great. We probably won’t have it again.
4. The cribbage tournament continues at breakfast and at lunch. I remember my grandparents had a mealtime card game that went for years. The same with Al’s parents. I think Al’s parents played 500 Rummy.
5. I went to Starbucks and got a mocha and banana nut loaf slice today. The first time in forever.
How about you? What made you happy today?
