Five things that made me happy today – 8/6/22

The world is a place where the extraordinary can sit just beside the ordinary with the thinnest of boundaries.

1. Woke up to mid 50s and bright, blue sky. It had warmed up to the mid-70s by lunchtime, and it topped out at 81 deg. (We’re under a heat advisory – you people in the rest of the country need to quit laughing.)

2. I sent my Memoir off to Big Al for his comments and to see if he remembered anything I’d forgotten. I’m still working on the second pass – trying to add more human interest and dialogue to the bare bones.

3. I was all alone at the Wellness Center when I went over to work out. All the tents from the picnic yesterday had been removed and you never would have known they had been there.

4. I had a big salad for lunch – lettuce, cottage cheese, and tomato. Al had some of the left-over fried rice from last Sunday.

5. The window washer came today and the outside of the windows are sparkling clean.

How about you? What made you happy today?
