Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful; for beauty is God’s handwriting.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
1. It was 55 deg. In Port Townsend when I got up. There was an impressive cloud bank in the southeast, but it resolved into wispy clouds. The high in Tacoma after we got home, under blue skies, was 75 deg.
2. Bill, Al and I went to the Spruce Goose at the Jefferson County International Airport for breakfast. Bill had Sunrise Scramble – three eggs, bacon, mushrooms, onions, diced potatoes, and cheese with hash browns and toast. Al had a Vegetarian Cheese Omelette with hash browns and toast. I had two eggs scrambled with ham, and hash browns. It came with toast, but I subbed in one of their incredible cinnamon rolls. It was fun sitting on the porch watching the planes, and even three helicopters, land and take off. Best breakfast in Port Townsend!

3. We went back to the motel, finished packing and checked out. Then, Bill and Erika dropped us off at a park in Port Townsend by the waterfront.

We enjoyed sitting in the sunshine, and watching the gulls and crows squabble over dominance. Erika and Bill indulged in a little retail therapy.

4. We got back to Tacoma about 1:00 pm. We got our stuff out of the car, and waved goodbye to Bill and Erika, with many, many thanks for a wonderful birthday trip.
5. We were still too full from breakfast to eat lunch, so I got the clothes unpacked, and everything put away. I found many nice birthday cards in the mail box, and a birthday gift from Al’s sister-in-law.
How about you? What made you happy today?
