We can never underestimate this truth: No matter who you are, the biggest thing you do in any day is most often going to be a small act of kindness, decency, or love.

1. It was 42 deg with drizzle when I got up. The rain continued until about the time we got home from lunch. Now it’s just cloudy (what a surprise) and 48 deg.
2. I read through my posts for the current date first thing every morning. Three years ago, I was all excited to be planning my trip to Houston for the General Assembly Nominating Committee meeting. That was going to be a long train trip, and it was cancelled by COVID. Two years ago I was excited to be getting my second COVID shot on February 17th. A year ago I was tired of lockdown. I still haven’t used the voucher for that trip – it’s probably expired now.

3. Nice church service this morning. I had wine and a lemon Oreo for my communion in my living room. I’m still reluctant to go anywhere and sit in proximity to lots of people.
4. We went to our favorite Japanese restaurant for lunch. I had assorted sushi, and Al had chicken yakisoba. We like that place because the tables are still separated, and there are rarely a lot of people there. (And the food is yummy, too.)
5. We picked up the Safeway order for eggs, milk and fruit for the week, and came home to hibernate the rest of the day. I’m really looking forward to All Creatures Great and Small on PBS this evening.
How about you? What made you happy today?
