Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel that the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond.

1. It was 32 deg. with mostly clear skies when I got up. It’s been really cold all day and cloudy with scattered sun breaks. The high has been 40 deg with and expected low tonight of 24 deg.
2. I spent the morning gathering up clothes I’ve not worn in a long time and getting them ready to take to the homeless shelter. I also sorted out everything in my closet and made a decision about keep or throw away. Now to figure out what to do with a scraggly mattress cover with holes.
3. I ran by the lab and got a blood test that the cardiologist ordered, and then went to the church and got my ashes (for Ash Wednesday). Then to the Wellness Center where I got most of my steps for the day.

4. Lunch was Bear Creek Tortilla Soup with extra chicken. I was cold when I got back from the Wellness center, so I was glad of it and I had enough left over to freeze to eat while we’re in the temporary housing.
5. We’ll be in the Visitors’ Cottage beginning a week from today, so things are beginning to feel real.
How about you? What made you happy today?
