Five things that made me happy today – 3/16/23

Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work.

Gustave Flaubert

1. It was 37 deg and clear with a little frost on the cars when I got up this morning. With bright blue skies and sunshine all day, the temperature got to 53 deg. I think that’s the warmest it’s been this year!

2. Big Al and I went to Boathouse 19 for lunch because we didn’t stop on the way home from the commissary the other day. I had a 3-piece cod plate with clam chowder, and Cole slaw. Al had one of their big hamburgers with fries. Very good, except they’ve been hit with the inflation bug like every place else. I guess I’m going to have to quit assuming I know what things at restaurants are going to cost.

3. We stopped at the duplex on the way back and I got breakfast and lunch for tomorrow out of the freezer. The painter was checking all the wiring for all the outlets, so. he had the master circuit breaker flipped. We were worried when our garage door opened wouldn’t work, but all was well.

4. Al thought he had lost his key card for getting into buildings, and I spent a while searching for it. He had also searched this morning. Luckily it turned up in the pocket of the shirt he was wearing. I’m really happy it turned up because they charge us a LOT to replace those cards.

5. We’re having Great Decisions in a few minutes, so I’d better review the lesson. Al is the moderator and he’ll want me to participate, I think. This chapter is on War Crimes.

How about you? What made you happy today?
