Five things that made me happy today – 4/25/23

The earth is too hot and we’re all up against the clock. There’s only time to turn towards what you truly love. There’s only time to leap.

1. It was 45 deg and cloudy when I got up this morning. The sun is out, and I have hopes of the temperature reaching the lower 60s. Now, mid-afternoon it’s 54 deg.

2. This is, apparently, “Good Shepherd” Sunday so we looked at John 10:1-10 at Bible study. I was one of the few people who had ever lived around sheep. When we were in England, there were sheep on every hillside. If we were traveling on one-track lanes, we often had to give way to herds of sheep who were crossing the road.

3. The housekeeper was here today, and we’ve got clean sheets, clean bathrooms and kitchen, and swept and mopped floors.

4. I ate lunch at the Bistro before working out in the Wellness Center. Then I went from there to Safeway to pick up milk, eggs and fruit for the rest of the week.

5. Greisser Girls Gab this afternoon. I’m really happy that we have this opportunity to connect in our old ages.

How about you? What made you happy today?

  1. I went for my annual Medicare exam which I hadn’t had in almost two years. My doctor and I laughed about finally seeing each other in person. She is a wonderful person and good doctor and I’m saddened to turn down some of the her suggestions that I know she is only offering for my own good (as she sees it), but there are some things I just refuse to do, and as long as I remain healthy, she has trouble coming up with a convincing argument. More doctor’s appointments and procedures do not lend themselves to my schedule. I did go for blood work because I could do it at the same time, in the same building, as my dr appointment.
