Five things that made me happy today – 5/21/23

We must have the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless furnace of the world.

1. Grey skies and temps in the low 50s early this morning. By mid-afternoon the temperature had climbed to 60 deg. I guess I got spoiled the last couple of weeks with temps in the 70s and 80s.

2. Interesting sermon today. Our preacher is a gay Hispanic man, and he related how scared he had been not knowing when or if he would be “deported” even though he is an American citizen.

3. Big Al and I went to Moctezuma’s for dinner today. I had a Gourmet Parilla Bowl, and Al had a ground beef chimichanga. We also got to see one of our favorite waiters.

4. I got home and my computer had decided it wasn’t going to show me my email. #2 son and I spent over an hour messing with it. It’s fixed now – fingers crossed…

5. I love these lazy Sundays – I was really busy last week and don’t have much on my calendar this week. That’s the way it is – either rushed off my feet, or bored. (Not really…)

How about you? What made you happy today?

  1. I made my mom’s strawberry pie for family dinner. Managed a homemade crust as well. No soggy bottoms! Packed for a little two-night trip over the hill to sleep in a caboose (!) at the Railroad Park Resort in Dunsmuir, California. And my purple robe locust tree started its annual show. A good day.
