30 Days of Thankfulness – 11/5/17
For the month of November, I’m going to try to include gratitude in all my posts (and post every day.)
I’m eternally grateful that I get to spend my declining years between the mountain and the sea. For this “flatlander” from arid Texas to be able to walk out my door and look one direction and see Puget Sound, and the other direction and see Mt. Rainier is a blessing.
“For the beauty of the earth…Lord, of all to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.”
Thirty Days of Thankfulness – 11/27/15
The weather has been amazing for the last several days. I’m thankful I had the opportunity to walk along the Sound and see the mountain again this week, even though the wind was biting and the temperature was hovering around 40 deg. I hope you, gentle readers, aren’t getting bored with my gushing over the beauty I live with every day, because it feeds my soul!

Place – #rethinkchurch
(Once again I’m following ReThinkChurch’s prompts for a photo-a-day during Lent.)
This is what I see when I think of my favorite place – sea, sky, and mountain!

One of my favorite places on earth – mountain, sound, and sky.
How Great Thou Art
Advent: Majesty #EvergreenAdvent
Psalm 8
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
