Five things that made me happy today – 1/18/23

To pay attention, this is our endless and proper work.

Mary Oliver

1. It was 45 deg and cloudy with wet streets when I got up this morning. That was the high for the day. Mid-day it’s 44 deg on its way down to the upper 30s.

2. I didn’t sleep well last night. I think my collards yesterday disagreed with me.

3. I felt better before noon and went over to the Wellness Center and worked out for a while.

4. We had left-overs for lunch. I had some more of Bill’s Gumbo, and Al had another helping of the Mexican Casserole I made the end of last week.

5. I’m looking for a new (preferably English) detective series to watch while I work out. I tried The Glass Onion today, but it wasn’t my cup of tea. I LOVED Midsumer Murders, Vera, Shetland, and Line of Duty. Recommendations welcome.

How about you? What made you happy today?

  1. You might like Agatha Raisin. It’s rather silly but doesn’t tax the brain. Father Brown? Have you watched those? We thoroughly enjoyed the Morse series if you’ve not already seen it.

    • I’ve already seen Agatha Raisin, and Father Brown. Watched Morse a couple of times. Also watching Endeavor(a young Morse). I’ve just started the Valhalla Murders. Good, if you don’t mind dialogue that’s dubbed. It’s Icelandic. At least I don’t have to read the subtitles.
