The trees, the flowers, the plants grow in silence. The stars, the sun, the moon move in silence. Silence gives us a new perspective.

1. It was cool and cloudy this morning in the low 50s. The sun has been out since the overcast burned off this morning. High temperature this afternoon should be around 70 deg.
2. I went over to the Wellness Center and worked out on the NuStep. I also took that opportunity to listen to HCR since I didn’t get a chance yesterday evening. She reiterated that we should use our own voices to take up oxygen – particularly about the Debt Ceiling Crisis.
3. I’m walking a fine line there, because not only is the debt ceiling worrying in an existential sense for the country, but Big Al and I live on five government checks – my social security, his social security, his Air Force retirement, his Veteran’s Administration check, and Department of the Air Force retirement check. We have a tiny bit of additional savings, but we are relying on that money that was promised to us. I try to think about this a little as possible. I know we’ve lived through three threats like this (including once when we were with the Air Force in England) and it all worked out, but it’s still worrying.
4. We had big salads for dinner today. We each got a bowl with lettuce and tomato. I added pistachios, cheese, onion, croutons, salad dressing, and carrots to mine. Big Al added shaved ham, cheese, croutons, salad crispins, bacon bits, and salad dressing to his.
5. I’m excited to watch the new episode of Ted Lasso this afternoon. I’m afraid we’re approaching the end. <sigh?

How about you? What made you happy today?
